How To:

5 Easy Steps to Setting Up Your EZWebPC™

Step 1 - Download

Download the EZWebPC™ program file from here. The file name will be, depending on the version, very close to "ezwebpc-1.4.2-free-i386.iso."

Step 2 - Burn to CD

You need to take the .iso file you have downloaded and burn it as an "image." This is different than just copying a file to a CD, which how we normally think of burning a CD. Creating an "image" actually takes the contents of the .iso file and places them all directly on the CD in such a way that the CD will actually start running our program when your computer boots up.

The easiest solution is to download the free program ISORecorder at http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm.

Steps to create a CD if you have installed ISO Recorder.

  1. Insert a blank CD into your CD-RW drive.
  2. Start Windows Explorer
  3. Locate the .iso you have downloaded, right click on the filename, select "copy image to CD" to start the ISO Recorder wizard.
  4. Follow the steps in the wizard to write the image to the CD.

Steps to create a CD if you have Nero - Burning ROM installed.

  1. Insert a blank CD into your CD-RW drive.
  2. Start Nero Burning ROM Follow the wizard steps to select Data CD creation.
  3. When the wizard closes, click Burn Image on the File menu.
  4. In the Open dialog box, select the ISO file, and then click Open.
  5. In the wizard, click Burn to write the image to the CD.

Steps to create a CD if you have EasyCD Creator (Roxio) installed.

  1. Insert a blank CD in your CD-RW drive.
  2. Start Windows Explorer.
  3. Locate the ISO file, right-click the file name, and then click Open to start EasyCD.
  4. In the Write Method section of the CD Creation Setup dialog box, click Disk at Once for optimum recording performance.
  5. Click OK to write the image to the CD.

Step 3 - Set Up the Computer

Locate a working Pentium II or better Intel-based PC. The PC should have at least 128MB RAM, a CD-ROM drive, and a network interface card (NIC); however, the PC does not need the actual hard drive (it can be left in or removed). You will, of course, need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, too! :)

Step 4 - Start the Computer

Turn the computer on. Before anything else, hit the eject button for the CD-ROM drive, and place the CD in the computer. Now restart the computer. If the EZWebPC™ program doesn't start up automatically, your computer is probably not set to "boot" from the CD-ROM drive first, which it needs to be. You will need to restart the computer and enter into the computer's "bios" settings area. Often this is done by hitting the function key "F2" or the escape key "Esc"  or the delete key when the manufacturer's splash screen starts to show. Because all computers do this differently, you may need to search Google™ to figure out how to do this if "F2", "Esc" or "delete" don't work.

You should now be able to change the settings for the bios. You need to change the "boot sequence" of the computer to boot from the CD-ROM drive first. Again, Google™ will be your best friend if you have any difficulty. Exit and save your setting changes, and restart the computer. You should see something that says "EZWebPC™" soon. (If, after a few minutes, you still don't have things working, send us a message and we'll see if we can help! support@livekiosk.com )

Step 5 - Surf the Web

You should now be connected to the Internet and be having a great experience surfing the Web! You will be asked to register the PC when you first start up.
